Industry training boosts workers and industry
The industry training boost in this years budget is a commitment of both the Labour and Progressive parties, which is worth celebrating for workers and industry, says Matt Robson MP.
"The Progressives are celebrating today's announcement of an extra $85 million for industry training - another step towards the Progressives Cornerstone Commitment to ensure over 100,000 people are in skills training by 2005. We are now on track to reach 150,000 by 2005.
"Industry training promotes economic growth and is one of the best investments we can make in our workforce.
"Economic, regional and industry development depend on upskilling our workforce to ensure New Zealand can aim high and be a talented player in the global economy.
"Industry training will boost economic
development and gives something back to New Zealanders. By
upskilling our workers we increase both the opportunities of
industry and workers to further contribute to a brighter,
more secure future for Zealand," said Matt Robson
MP.
