Health is More Important Than a Name
Health is More Important Than a Name
The Minister of Health should stop her hand-wringing over the name of Starship, and instruct the Auckland DHB to get on with the real work of providing healthcare, ACT Health Spokesman Heather Roy said today.
"The Minister is wading into the argument, saying the Board should find a compromise. But the Auckland DHB - and the Minister - surely have much bigger fish to fry:
· The $58.7million deficit for 02/03.
· SARS.
· Building programme at Auckland Hospital.
· Dealing with the interdistrict flows for establishment of population-based funding.
"Frankly, parents couldn't
care less what the name of the children's hospital is, so
long as it provides high-quality care for their
children," Mrs Roy said.
