Good on ya guys—it was a great run
Minister of Tourism Mark Burton is sorry to see the America’s Cup heading to Europe, but is expressing his appreciation to Team New Zealand for the past eight years.
“The America’s Cup put New Zealand on the map. Defending the Cup has given New Zealand the kind of positive publicity no amount of money could buy. Our world-class facilities and spectacular landscapes have been broadcast to millions of people around the world, with huge spin-offs for New Zealand’s tourism sector.
“I’m proud of Team New Zealand for holding the America’s Cup for eight years—good on ya, guys.”
