Labour dishes out Christmas ACC nasty
The National Party's accusing Labour of a deliberate cover up in connection with ACC levies.
"On the day the Government's due to announce the most significant decision in New Zealand's aviation history, Labour buries the fact that car registrations and petrol tax are going up," says the National Party's Transport spokesman Roger Sowry.
"This is typical of the way Labour operates, hide the bad news on a day when people's minds are elsewhere.
"Here's yet another Christmas nasty dished up by Labour, that will hit every motorist in the country," Mr Sowry says.
"National believes the hike in ACC levies proves that the renationalisation of the scheme hasn't worked.
"We were told a nationalised ACC would cut costs and benefit business - well it hasn't.
"This was always going to be the inevitable consequence of the return to a state monopoly," says Mr Sowry.
