D-Day On Four Weeks Leave Bill For Labour Caucus
D-Day On Four Weeks Leave Bill For Labour Caucus
"Tomorrow is D-Day for the Labour caucus to back the Progressive's Four weeks annual leave bill and implement their own policy " said Progressive Deputy Leader Matt Robson today.
"Most Labour MP's want to send the bill to a select committee when it is voted on in Parliament on Wednesday. Without their votes it will fail. However, a few senior Labour cabinet ministers are trying to force the caucus to vote no."
"If the position of the few carries it will go against Labour's own policy, disappoint thousands of employees and their families and be a slap in the face to the unions affiliated to the Labour Party."
"It won't go unnoticed either that all MPs are getting ready to pack their bags for a generous break at Christmas supplemented by the holidays that they give themselves during the rest of the year. It's time to ensure everyone gets a good break."
"I am hopeful that democracy will carry in the Labour caucus tomorrow as well as fair play" said Matt Robson.
