Helen Clark Models Herself as a Twisted Santa

Helen Clark is in very dangerous territory trying to hand out public money to her friends in unions, ACT Commerce Spokesman Deborah Coddington said today.

"Ms Clark is modelling herself as an immoral Santa Claus carrying sacks overflowing with public cash. She showers favours and money on her friends and acquaintances with gay abandon. And she knows better than anyone that unions are multi-million dollar organisations with no need for taxpayer funds.

"Take the primary teachers' union as one example. The New Zealand Educational Institute had annual income of $11,028,000 last year.

"Unions collect millions of dollars in compulsory levies. Their annual budgets exceed those of Business New Zealand and the Business Roundtable put together.

"Ms Clark's love of crony capitalism knows no bounds. The Prime Minister can cosy up to union leaders in posh restaurants all she wants, so long as she uses her own money and doesn't copy Third World dictators by buying off lobby groups and "independent" organisations with public cash," Miss Coddington said.
