Papers the Tip of the Iceberg - Sowry
National says papers released today by the Labour Government on Dr Ross Armstrong’s insider group are just the tip of the iceberg.
“What Doctor Cullen is asking us to believe is that for a meeting that lasted two and a quarter hours and had three parts, no briefing notes were prepared and nor were any notes taken,” says National’s acting leader Roger Sowry.
“That’s simply not credible.
“For the past four days Dr Cullen claimed no papers on the meetings existed, yet late today he’s released documents, although they don’t go any of the way to explaining away the Government’s involvement in Dr Armstrong’s PPP scheme.
“It would seem to me that this material’s been written after the meetings and we will continue to pursue the release of all material on Dr Armstrong’s group through the Official Information Act,”Mr Sowry says.
“National now reiterates its call for Labour to come clean explain and deliver the papers we’ve been asking for over the past four days,” says Mr Sowry.
