Will Labour Vote to Clear the Air?
ACT Commerce Spokesman MP Deborah Coddington today expressed surprise that commentators are assuming Labour will vote against a select committee inquiry to find out what Government Ministers knew about Ross Armstrong's dodgy insider group.
"Some commentators believe Richard Prebble's request that the Commerce Select Committee examines Ross Armstrong's involvement with the Government will fail because the Labour Party dominates that committee.
"I have great faith that if Paul Swain, Helen Clark and Michael Cullen are all telling the truth and have nothing to hide, they will warmly welcome an opportunity to clear the air. Furthermore, they will strongly urge their Labour colleagues on the committee to vote for an inquiry.
"Of course, if they do not support an inquiry, we will all be forced to fill in the gaps ourselves - and assume the worst," Miss Coddington said.
