National wants air cleared over “insider” group
There’s a call for the Government to table all relevant information about a so-called insider group, set up to give members the inside running on crown projects.
“National supports public private partnerships but they must be open and transparent,” says National Party deputy leader Roger Sowry.
He says National’s very concerned about the new group calling itself Pacific Road New Zealand - that says it was set up at the Prime Minister’s request.
It’s headed by TVNZ and New Zealand Post chairman Dr Ross Armstrong, who Mr Sowry describes as “one of Helen Clark’s favourites.”
Former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating’s also involved.
“We want full disclosure over who Dr Armstrong’s been meeting with, what officals were there and what sort of deals are being done,” says Mr Sowry
