Mayors and Ministers want jobs for all young New Zealanders
Local Mayors and Government Ministers will meet at the Cabinet table tomorrow to discuss plans to get all young New Zealanders into jobs or training over the next few years.
The Labour/Progressive Coalition Government and Mayors Taskforce for Jobs will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to work together.
The Prime Minister Helen Clark, Economic Development Minister Jim Anderton, Social Services Minister Steve Maharey, and Local Government Minister Chris Carter will meet with the mayors in the Cabinet Office to discuss national and local employment goals.
Ministers and mayors will sign the Memorandum at 6:30 pm in the Beehive Foyer.
