Mischievious Musings Create Grand Coalition Of The Right
New Zealand First Leader and MP for Tauranga Rt Hon Winston Peters has labelled the speculation that some form of grand
coalition of the Right could result from a liaison of National, Act, United Future and NZ First as bizarre.
“This truly bizarre proposition could only have come from the most ‘fertile of imaginations. It is probably the result
of an enthusiastic journalist interviewing their typewriter”, said Mr Peters.
“It is possibly being circulated by a desperate National Party, in free fall in the polls, who are seeking some
relevance for themselves and their irrelevant ACT partners.
Anyone who speculates as to who may or may not form part of a government before the voters have determined the
proportions of representation they desire, is displaying a contempt for the democratic process at best, or is being
deliberately mischievous at worst”, Mr Peters concluded.
“Or is Labour running a scare campaign to take power on their own”.
