Conservation:
$349 million increase over ten years for Department of Conservation huts, tracks and other outdoor facilities.
Pre-releases:
Environment, biosecurity, fisheries package:
„h $26.5 million over the next four years to maintain a clean, green environment.
„h $5.9 million over four years for environmental education programmes.
„h $5 million a year over four years for fisheries environmental research.
„h $3 million a year to implement the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy.
„h $12.10 million over four years to strengthen New Zealand¡¦s biosecurity capacity.
Forestry:
$19.7 million over SEVEN years for buying high priority conservation blocks of SILNA forest, supporting sustainable forestry on other blocks, improving RMA enforcement and extending a voluntary moratorium on logging.
Broadcasting:
$12 million a year to TVNZ to implement the charter.
$6 million a year extra to New Zealand On Air.
Arts and culture:
$5.3 million a year over five years towards the redevelopment of the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
Almost $3 million for 2002-03 shared among Creative New Zealand, the Arts Foundation, the Film Commission and the Film Archive to off-set cuts in lotteries funding.
