Margaret Wilson has a recurring bad habit
Margaret Wilson the Attorney General is supposed to protect the
parliamentary process but she is again introducing a late Supplementary Order Paper without notice, National's Justice spokesperson Wayne Mapp said today.
"You would think she would have learned from her mistake when she introduced the criminal defamation Supplementary Order Paper to Electoral Amendment Bill which has been now tossed aside.
"This week she introduced a change to the Human Rights Amendment Bill without notice, to establish a new Equal Employment Opportunities Commissioner.
"Margaret Wilson seems unable to learn about the dangers of late SOPs after Helen Clark had to back down on her defamation law and throw it out.
"Delivering the SOP in person last night is hardly an adequate process to inform the Parliament or the public.
"Far from protecting the constitution Margaret Wilson is endangering constitutional propriety," Dr Mapp said.
