How Dr Cullen Can Boost Business Confidence

Published: Wed 31 Oct 2001 10:31 AM
Michael Cullen can restore business confidence if he stops passing the buck and starts making some simple decisions, ACT Finance Spokesman MP Rodney Hide said today.
"Instead of blaming 'external' factors, Dr Cullen needs to accept that he has the power to turn things around.
"To boost confidence we must increase the return and decrease the risk of doing business in New Zealand. The only way this can be done is by lowering taxes and securing property rights.
"Dr Cullen should stop dithering, and pay some attention to the McLeod Tax Review.
"Business confidence can be restored, if Dr Cullen chooses to do his job," Mr Hide said.
