Auckland Transport Needs Single Authority
Friday, August 10 2001
Penny Webster Press Releases -- Transport
The Auckland Transport Action Group's recommendation for a single Urban Transport Authority is a step in the right direction, ACT Transport Spokesman Penny Webster said today.
"I congratulate the Action Group on their recommendation which, if followed, would streamline plans to tackle major roading and public transport issues.
"ACT New Zealand has proposed a single transport commission for Auckland for some time, to cut through the raft of local bodies responsible for transport in the region.
"Let's hope that we will now see the motorway network completed, and soon," Penny Webster said.
