Ministers meet NZ Post Board members
The Finance Minister and I had a useful and constructive meeting with members of the Board of New Zealand Post, the Minister for State Owned Enterprises Mark Burton said.
Mr Burton and Dr Cullen met with New Zealand Post directors last evening.
"Our meeting provided an opportunity for directors to personally reinforce the undertakings and assurances conveyed to me earlier this month," Mark Burton said.
Ministers said they were pleased to receive the unequivocal commitment of board members to work together for the good of the company.
"Last night's meeting was an opportunity to 'clear the air'. The recent distractions are now behind the Board, and every member is focused on the job of running a successful government-owned business," Mark Burton said.
