Hobbs takes 18 Months to Produce Political Claptrap

Tuesday 1st May 2001 Penny Webster Media Release -- Other

ACT Broadcasting Spokesman Penny Webster today slammed Marian Hobbs’ TVNZ Charter, saying the document raised more questions than it answered.

“The Charter is political claptrap filled with PC mouthings,” Penny Webster said.

“I am appalled that we have waited 18 months for Ms Hobbs to produce something of absolutely no substance. Now we have to wait another ridiculous length of time before implementation.

“Who will pay and how much has this cost the tax-payer so far? These important questions remain unanswered.

“At the end of the day, is the Minister going to stop New Zealanders from voting with their remotes and changing the channel?” Penny Webster asked.
