Minister announces new Hillary Commissioner
Sport, Fitness and Leisure Minister Trevor Mallard has announced the appointment of Bill Osborne as a Hillary Commissioner.
"Mr Osborne has extensive experience in the sporting environment both as a participant and as an administrator," Trevor Mallard said.
"He is aware of issues surrounding participation in Sport, Fitness and Leisure and brings an understanding of the complexities surrounding the governance and management of sport in New Zealand.
"Mr Osborne completed his MBA at Waikato University in 1995. He possesses a unique combination of practical, theoretical, management and business knowledge. His strategic thinking capacity is a distinguishing factor in his business achievements.
"I am confident that he will make a valuable contribution to the Hillary Commission," Trevor Mallard said.
Mr Osborne replaces for Internal Affairs Secretary Roger Blakeley. The Hillary Commission was established through legislation to develop and encourage sport, fitness and leisure.
