Helen Clark and Jim Anderton should stop abusing the messengers and face up to the real difficulties New Zealand is facing, Opposition Leader Jenny Shipley said today.
"The revelation on the Holmes show of the abusive email dished out to a young New Zealander concerned about where the country is heading is another example of the blind arrogance of this Government.
"And today we've seen Helen Clark labelling anyone who disagrees with her as 'economic saboteurs' engaging in treachery.
"The leadership of this Government has come to a sorry state when a young man is labelled a 'half-wit' for attempting to raise his concerns with the Deputy Prime Minister.
"Responsible New Zealanders with concerns deserve a hearing, not an earful.
"We haven't seen this sort of behaviour from Government since David Lange was up to his antics such as calling a woman a 'shrew' for writing him a letter," Mrs Shipley said.
