DFNZ Council Off To Positive Start
DFNZ National Chairman Charlie Pedersen said today that the DFNZ Council Meeting being held at Flock House has begun with positive controversy and debate.
The opening speaker was Brian Allison, Chairman of the Board, NZ Dairy Foods. Mr Allison is arguably the leading public proponent of the advantages that a corporate focus could bring to the New Zealand Dairy Industry.
Mr Allison laid out his argument in an ordered and compelling manner and made points that were at times controversial. Mr Pedersen said that this has engendered much debate among our members and provided an ideal platform for the rest of the meeting.
Other topics to be discussed in workshops during the 3 day meeting are; Co-operatives and their appropriateness to the dairy industry, On Farm Quality Assurance and Audit Trails, and industry good structure and accountability within a deregulated NZ Dairy Industry.
