Coalition – WTO – French Explosion – Serviceman’s Funeral – Software Piracy – Athletic Park

COALITION: Jim Anderton says the new coalition agreement will allow the Alliance to disagree with its coalition partner in public. The agreement will be signed today and contains a new spin on the convention of collective cabinet responsibility.

WTO: The outgoing minister of Interenational Trade Lockwood Smith blames lack of preparation by the US on the failure of WTO talks at the weekend. However he feels there will be progress at next months talks.

FRENCH EXPLOSION: Eleven killed in an explosion in France which demolished a four story block. The explosion is thought to have been caused by gas.

SERVICEMAN’S FUNERAL: Funeral at Linton Camp today for a NZ Serviceman killed in East Timor on Tuesday when he crashed his truck.

SOFTWARE PIRACY: Microsoft is offering a $5000 reward for dobbing in software pirates.

ATHLETIC PARK: Owners of Athletic Park are expected to announce today that it will be turned into a residential development.
