1. CONFESSION - A police killer's trial is over in minutes. The killer of Constable Stretch confessed within minutes. The family say the trial is over but not their ordeal. Stretch was beaten to death as he attended a call out to a burglary.
2. RAIL ACCIDENT - Tranzrail is investigating how two trains ended up on the same track in Southland. One driver was killed.
3.. STUDENT LOANS - Controversial student loan is changing again after weeks of student protest. The Government says it is not motivated by the election. Students say it is an election bribe. Interest rates are being lowered. Political reaction has been negative.
4. DEFAMATION - Lawyers for Labour leader Helen Clark have ended a defamation case against a surgeon who she wrongly said bungled an apology. The ACT party says it shows Clark is not capable of being PM.
5. RUGBY - A premature row has broken out over how to celebrate if the All Blacks win the world cup. Auckland City Council is not willing to pay for it all.
6. HERO - The Auckland gay parade - Hero - has been delayed due to lack of sponsorship.
