EAST TIMOR: The UN is delighted with an Indonesian government decision to allow 200,000 Easxt Timorese refugees to return to East Timor from camps in West Timor.

CHECHNYA: The Russian military is broadening its assault on Chechnya. Russian forces are under orders not to suffer large numbers of casualties.

NUCLEAR ACCIDENT: Japanese officials are continuing investigations into last Thursday’s nuclear accident in Japan.

MP NUMBERS EDUCATION: A group of constitutional and electorall experts have organised an education campaign on why we should not reduce the number of MPs.
