The Evening Post leads with a report that has Tranz Rail saying the Cook Strait ferry Aratere is safe despite a leaked report which raises concerns about the ship's electrical systems. Another story on the same ferry says the Maritime Safety Authority is launching an investigation after an emergency at sea yesterday.
The photo story shows military supplies and equipment being loaded onto a freighter destined for East Timor. The paper also says the Government is thinking over taking Timorese refugees.
