SON NO KILLER: The mother of a man who admitted killing a mystery woman called Stacy says her son is no killer.
SHOOTING: A man shot a woman during a domestic incident in Nelson last night, knocked down a pedestrian as he fled the scene and then shot himself. Nobody died however – the woman and pedestrian in a stable condition and the man’s injuries describes as “not life threatening”.

ACC PAYOUT: After a 15 year battle a former accountant was finally paid out for medical misadventure by ACC. The payment was eventually made after a man was injected with a dye during an X-ray of his spine but was crippled by the procedure. He was originally awarded $340,000 but after repayments and adjustments he was left with just $64,000.
