POLL: A CM Research poll of 1000 people shows National continuing to lose support to the benefit of Labour, the Green Party and New Zealand First. National are on 32% down 5, Labour are on 40% up two, the Alliance on 7% down one, New Zealand First on 7% up 2.3, ACT steady on 6% and the Greens up on one to 2.6%. WATSON: An ex-girlfriend of Scott Watson said he told her Olivia Hope hated her father. She also said the hatch covering which the Crown allege is covered in scratch marks made by Olivia Hope was smooth when she last saw it in October.
HONG KONG CRASH: A jet liner flipped onto its roof at the new Hong Kong airport as it came in to land. Two people died and 200 were injured. The crash was caused by a side wind in appalling weather conditions during the typhoon season.
BRETT: Hurricane Brett lashed Southern Texas today but the winds dropped from 225km/h to 200km/h and avoided heavily populated areas. Hundreds of thousands of Texans evacuated.
CRICKET: The Black Caps have been replaced by England at the bottom of the world test cricket rankings after beating England in the test decider by 83 runs. It was the second series win in England for New Zealand. Chris Cairns was named player of the tour.
