Life flight winches injured farmer in the Wairarapa

Life Flight responded in the Westpac Recue Helicopter with a Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic on board.

Once the beacon had been located the crew discovered that a local farmer in his 50s had rolled his digger approximately 50m down a bank after the dirt road he was driving on gave way.

Due to the location of the injured framer the flight paramedic was winched down to his location. The patient was assessed by the paramedic and placed in the winch stretcher with the help of some local framers.
