LUNDY MURDERS: Mark Lundy, the man accused of killing his wife Christine and daughter Amber appeared in the Palmerston North District Court for depositions hearings today. Christine and Amber were bashed to death, the Crown alleges Mark Lundy did it with a tomahawk axe from his garden shed. The crown also alleges Mark Lundy left the scene disguised as a female jogger, wearing a blonde wig.

MISSILE SHIELD: Russia and China are tonight warning of a new arms race after the successful test of the United States national missile defence system. Despite international condemnation and expert opinion that says the missile shield won’t work, the Bush administration insists it wants a national missile defence system. Russia and China say the project contravenes the 1972 Anti-ballistic Missile Treaty.

INDIA/PAKISTAN SUMMIT: India and Pakistan have extended the summit to discuss their 50-year-old conflict over Kashmir.

INDIAN FLOOD: Much of an Eastern Indian coastal state in is flood.

KOREAN FLOODING: The heaviest rains in nearly 40 years are being blamed for death and damage by flooding in Korea.

NEW PLYMOUTH FLOODING: A torrential downpour had residents of New Plymouth struggling through floodwater today.

ALEXANDRA’S FROST: Alexandra, in Central Otago has been shrouded in fog since last month. While the hoer frost is beautiful, temperatures rarely rise above zero.

SMOKE ON SCREEN: Critics are panning anti-smoking group ASHs suggestion of putting an age restriction on movies where they stars are portrayed smoking.
