US ELECTIONS: The US Supreme Court is considering a case that could end the race for the Whitehouse. It is not known
when there will be a ruling.
ARMY PAY RISES: Defence Minister Mark Burton says that pay increases in the army will be targeted at trades the army has
shortages in as well as the lowest paid ranks.
TERTIARY CRISIS: The Government is not revealing any of its strategy for the tertiary sector even though the sector
itself says it is in crisis.
PINOCHET: The Chilean Court of Appeal has blocked the arrest order against former Dictator Augusto Pinochet. The court
said the former general should have been interrogated first.
FIJI: The Commonwealth Envoy to Fiji says that Fiji is not trying very hard to return to democratic rule.
ECONOMY CLASS SYNDROME: A Melbourne law firm suing several airlines in a class action over blood clots (economy class
syndrome) has received numerous calls from New Zealanders.
