Lee Says “Holocaust” – Watson Investigation – Fiji Mutiny – Shakespeare Smoke - Fireworks

- LEE SAYS “HOLOCAUST”: Alliance deputy leader Sandra Lee has reopened old Government wounds by using the word ‘holocaust’ to describe Maori depopulation in the 19th century, after associate Maori Affairs Minister Tariana Turia was forbidden from using the word in that context following an inflammatory speech earlier in the year.

- WATSON INVESTIGATION: The Criminal Bar Association has called for a full and independent investigation into allegations that police pressured a witness to lie during the Scott Watson trial.

- FIJI MUTINY: Evidence is mounting that the attempted mutiny in the Fiji Military on Thursday last week was part of a wider power struggle, after revelations yesterday that former Prime Minister and coup leader Sitiveni Rabuka is a main suspect and is under investigation for his role in the mutiny.

- SHAKESPEARE’S SMOKE: Pipes found at William Shakespeare’s home in Stratford-upon-Avon are being tested for traces of cannabis.
