- DOG OFF DEATH ROW: German Shepherd dog, Hugo, was taken off death row yesterday when Fielding District Court Judge dismissed a charge that he had attacked an 11 year could boy.

- XENA FIGHTS FOR KIDS: Lucy Lawless, who plays Xena Warrior Princess, has offered to help fight child abuse. She said the fatal bashing of three-year-old Tangaroa Matiu in January prompted her to call the Commissioner for Children.
