GONZALES RETURNS TO CUBA: Elian Gonzales, the Cuban shipwrecked survivor, has arrived home in Havana with his father after a Supreme Court ruled in the child should be returned to the care of his parents.

MOTHER CHARGED: The mother of the Steven Wallace, man killed by a police officer in Waitara has been charged with grevious bodily harm by local police.

FIJI COUP BLACKLIST: Officials in New Zealand are yet to confirm reports in Suva that a Fijian businessman has been ordered to leave New Zealand in the next twenty four hours because of his links to George Speight’s coup. A list of over 40 people have been blacklisted entry into the country by Foreign Minister Phil Goff.

SOLOMONS PM: Members of the Solomon Islands Cabinet have been warned of dire consequences if they do not elect a new Prime Minister soon.

SEARCH FOR MAN: Bad weather is hampering the search of a man in the Waitakere ranges. Police believe he may have killed his young partner and may now have taken his own life.
