City Voice/Scoop Forum: "Fossil of the Day" award for NZ
ADVISORY FROM SCOOP AND CITY VOICE ON WELLINGTON CENTRAL FORUM
New Zealand has been awarded the "Fossil of the Day" award by environmental groups at the United Nations for its environmental achievement.
Why? Because we increased our climate change emissions of carbon dioxide by 30 per cent - instead of the promised reduction of five per cent.
This event makes this Thursday's CityVoice - Scoop Elections Public Forum Debate on "Transportation" very timely indeed.
More roads - or more public transport? More transport - or more walking and work in your own neighbourhood? Or a Political Climate Change with Less transport and more Future?
Those are the issues that you may want to debate with the candidates standing in the important Wellington Central Electorate.
What vision of an ecological future do the Candidates have? What would you ask them?
Participate in our Public Forum Debate on
++ Thursday November 4, 7.30 pm at St Andrews on the Terrace in Wellington.
We have asked the candidates to outline their policies on transport and sustainability issues.
Kindly forward this notice to friend and foe.
We would also be grateful if you could forward it to anyone else who may be interested and may not have heard about it.
Kind regards ... Simon Collins, Chief Reporter. (email: editor@cityvoice.co.nz)
