Scoop Advisory: Key Word Based Filtering Now Here

Published: Mon 27 Sep 1999 02:01 PM
Scoop’s commercial Newsagent service has undergone a major upgrade implementing a new approach to the news filter interface which has been requested by many clients over the past few months.
It is now possible for subscribers to Scoop Newsagent to specify key words which will then be used to scan Scoop material as it is published. All material that matches the defined key words (each user can set three different filters) will be e-mailed immediately to the user.
Existing customers can use their existing Scoop logins to access the new service by pushing the LOGIN button in the left hand control panel on the front page. New customers should first sign-up to Newsagent – push the SUBSCRIBE button – and then after subscribing use the LOGIN button which will provide access to the new key-word filtering system.
The new service is likely to be especially useful for keeping tabs on when company and individual names appear in Scoop material – including News Monitor reports.
The new key word service is included in the basic package provided to Scoop subscribers at the all inclusive price of $100 per month including GST. It should be noted that this price is substantially lower than that charged by our closest competing service – a service which does not offer the flexibility of key word based filtering.
The latest upgrade to Scoop’s services continues the path of innovation established since Scoop was born on June 9, 1999.
Since our launch Scoop has - in addition to providing excellent ongoing coverage of New Zealand news:
Launched a sophisticated fully searchable archive of Scoop material - SCOOP GOLD;
Launched twice daily Scoop Ratings - Top 20 reports;
Launched a free twice daily email bulletin – SCOOP TODAY - which includes links to the top stories on Scoop each day. This service presently has 250 subscribers;
Added new Auckland and Australia wires to our range of content;
Implemented a highly popular and successful sponsored page focussing on the APEC conference and East Timor Crisis.
Scoop intends to continue innovating in pursuit of its mission of providing professional information tools of excellence for both information professionals and all those with a serious interest in the news.
