Prince William arrives on Anzac Day for visit to Christchurch
Prince William is arriving on Anzac Day for a two-day visit in which he will meet survivors of the mosque terror attacks.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has confirmed the Duke of Cambridge will be in Auckland next Thursday and she will travel with him to Christchurch the following day.
Ms Ardern said Prince William will also meet police and ambulance officers who were first at the scene of the attacks on two Christchurch mosques on 15 March, in which 50 people were killed and dozens injured.
Prince William will also meet members of the wider Muslim community.
Ms Ardern said the visit is a show of support to both the local and national community and she knows it will bring comfort to those hurt by what has happened.
Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge last visited New Zealand in April 2014 on a 10-day trip.
He also came here in 2011, visiting Pike River families and speaking at a memorial service for victims of the Christchurch earthquake.
