PM's Post-Cabinet Press Conference 6/8/18: Trade Stuff

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern this afternoon held her first post-cabinet press conference following her return from maternity leave. She was joined by Trade Minister David Parker for a press conference that focused on the government's 'trade for all agenda' plans for widespread consultation on the shape of future trade agreements and supporting business into international trade, as well as the state of current negotiations, the world trade situation, and local economic issues.

Other topics raised in questions included government construction contracts and support for the industry, recognising the Armenian genocide, National MP Juidth Collins tweeting links to a fake new website, the inquiry into the appointment of Wally Haumaha as Deupty Police Commissioner, how Ms Ardern has been managing with her return to Prime Ministerial duties ("great"), the ongoing state of considerations regarding Housing NZ's meth testing debacle and international student post-study rights, the good state of relations with Australia, the availability of rehab beds for sythetic drugs and the wider mental health situation, Māori fresh water rights, and Minster Andrew Little's evacuation from Bali after being caught up in the Lombock earthquake.
