Peters In, Nurses Out?
Monday's post-cabinet press conference was held by Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters, who was joined by Health
Minister David Clark, to answer questions which focused on DHB nurse pay negotiations and Deputy Prime Minister Winston
Peters.

Nurses' union members have rejected the health boards' latest offer and the parties will seek urgent mediation. Peters and Clark defended both the governments commitment to building wages for public servants and the quality of
this pay offer. Clark also said DHBs were preparing to maintain life preverving services in the face of possible strike
action.
Other topics included the re-opening of Pike River mine and Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters' long-standing offer to
be first to enter, the chairing of cabinet not by the Prime Minister or an acting Prime Minister but by Deputy Prime
