Recent warnings that the Thwaites Glacier could break off Antarctica and cause flooding throughout the world is a
political issue involving us all.
The subject of ALL TOGETHER NOW is our personal and collective place on planet Earth in 2018. The whole atmosphere is
one of stress and impending doom. We are confused and lost despite being bombarded with information and all the old gods
are dead. We can't change what's happening around us, but we can find hope via a new mindset, experiencing solidarity,
and just 'enjoying the ride'. The painting presents the famous statement of Voltaire "La vie est un naufrage, mais nous
ne devons pas oublier de chanter dans les canots de sauvetage." [Life is a shipwreck, but we mustn't forget to sing in
the lifeboats] In those days, he might have been talking about life as it is for individuals, but for us in 2018 life is
consciously shared by all of us on the planet. And in our time, even the planet is at great risk. But Voltaire's 18
words are even more relevant as a guide through this horrible mess. Shall we sing? All together now...!!
