Parliament heads into its final days of the year this week before the summer adjournment.
Today, the Government intends to complete the first reading of Overseas Investment Amendment Bill, and the remaining
stages of the Christ Church Cathedral Reinstatement Bill.
The cathedral bill recently received its first reading and went through a short select committee process and had support
from all parties.
If this is completed today, the next Government Bills up for debate are the first readings of the Education (Teaching
Council of Aotearoa) Amendment Bill and the Electoral Integrity Amendment Bill.
Tomorrow morning the House will sit under extended hours for the first reading of the Ngāti Tūwharetoa Claims Settlement
Bill and the second reading of the lwi and Hapū of Te Rohe o Te Wairoa Claims Settlement Bill.
On Wednesday afternoon, the House will consider motions relating to the Intelligence and Security Committee, and will
confirm the sitting programme for next year in the adjournment debate.
The House will then adjourn until Tuesday 30th January 2018.
