One News Colmar Brunton Poll Nov 29 to Dec 5
The latest poll has recorded public support broadly in line with the September election result.
National remained the single most popular party with 46 percent support, up from its election night result of 44.4 percent (up 1.6 points)
Labour recorded 39 percent (up 2.1 points), NZ First was on 5 percent (down 2.2 points) with the Greens up slightly from the election night result of 6.3 percent to 7 percent.
The poll shows National’s support remaining stable despite the election defeat and Labour only gaining a small bounce after forming the Government.
The fall for NZ First could indicate National-leaning NZ First supporters expressing their dissatisfaction at the formation of a government with Labour.
Preferred Prime Minister
Jacinda Ardern 37 percent.
Bill English’s 28 percent.
Winston Peters 5 percent.
The poll of just over 1000 eligible voters was taken between the 29th of November and the 5th of December and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percent.
The poll has had a change in method. In the past One News Colmar Brunton Polls, have been done just via landline phones. This poll has a 50/50 split of mobile phones and landlines.
