PM's Press Conference 27/11/17: Peters' Papers Pickle
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was joined at her post-cabinet press conference by Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Winston Peters over the non-release of a document with further information relating to the Labour/NZ First coalition deal. Peters had said a 38 (now apparently 33) page document would be released, but Ms Ardern said it was dealt with matters being investigated by the parties and information would be released if and when it lead to government action.
Prior to the press conference Peters and Ardern had met with UK Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox. Peters said he had encouraged negotiations on an NZ/UK trade deal, all aspect of which he felt could be progressed prior to the conclusion of the UK's Brexit negotiations.
Ardern opening the press conference by reporting on the progress of the government's 100 day plan and promoting Finance Minister Grant Robertson's upcoming speech. Other issues discussed included National's latest paid parental leave bill, waka jumping legislation, and the stolen painting listed as for sale on the internet.
