Last Friday Scoop announced the top 5 issues we hope to prioritise for our “Opening The Election” journalism project over the next 5 months.
The topics selected by the Scoop community (with % of respondents who agreed) were:
1. Housing (90%)
2. Environment (90%)
3. Inequality (86%)
4. Health (70%)
5. Employment (The future of work) (68%)

These topics will form the core focus of the “Opening the Election” project this election year. Scoop is currently
crowdfunding in order to be able to deliver quality journalism as part of this project. We really need as much support
as possible over the next few days so we can ensure this campaign meets its target and we can complete this project.
This funding will allow us to fund professional investigation, reporting and multi-media content creation in these vital
areas. We are really looking forward to engaging professional journalists to take on these crucial issues in order to
add positively to the Election debate.
We will also continue the community engagement aspect of this project through separate HiveMind conversations on each of
these topics. Keep an eye on Scoop.co.nz or our Facebook page to get notification of these conversations. Or if you have
