New appointments at Scoop Publishing Ltd
As pioneering NZ online news publisher Scoop Independent News approaches the anniversary of the campaign to transform into a charitable foundation, the company announces several appointments to the Scoop team.
Stepping into the role of Editor of Scoop's flagship, Scoop.co.nz website, is Scoop's long time political editor Gordon Campbell. Gordon joined the Scoop team in the lead up to the 2008 General Election and has led Scoop's political coverage ever since. During a period of massive change in the NZ news media, Gordon's appointment represents continuity and stability, qualities which are vital during this early building phase for the new foundation.
In addition to editing Scoop.co.nz, Gordon will continue to edit and publish his online news magazine Werewolf.co.nz. Gordon takes over from Scoop co-founder and long serving editor Alastair Thompson. Scoop Publishing Limited has also convened an editorial panel to ensure independent oversight of Scoop's editorial decision making processes.
Scoop has appointed a new technical lead with a brief to revitalise the look and feel of Scoop's publishing platform, and to modernize Scoop's internal technology to support future growth. Wiremu Demchick is an experienced developer based in Auckland and contributor in the Enspiral Network, which Scoop joined as a venture in February 2014.
Scoop Publishing Ltd is a subsidiary, not for profit company, wholly owned by the Scoop Foundation for Public Interest Journalism.
If you would like to arrange an interview please contact Editor, Gordon@Scoop.co.nz.
