An Invitation to the Scoop Foundation's inaugural "Scoop Hui" - This Sunday 22nd Nov. at St Andrew’s on the Terrace at 2pm
Dear Scoop Readers, Members, Contributors, Stakeholders and Supporters,
Yesterday the Scoop Foundation reached its PledgeMe establishment phase crowd funding goal of $50k in pledges. Having done so the work of the Scoop Foundation can now begin in earnest.
To kick this off we have begun planning opportunities to meet and engage with our new community of members and contributorsm, as well as to reach out to other groups who are working towards shared objectives.
This coming Sunday the Scoop Foundation is hosting its first formal members meeting. And over the next fortnight Scoop Foundation people plan to participate in two external events which focus on practical approaches to addressing challenges around the future of news delivery in New Zealand. The details of all three events follow below.
The First Ever “Scoop Hui”
The Scoop Foundation’s first ever meeting “Scoop Hui” will be held this coming Sunday 22nd November in Wellington. We plan to use the occasion to introduce ourselves and the Scoop Foundation, answer questions and begin to explore ways in which the Scoop Foundation Community might assist the Scoop Foundation to flourish in the months and years ahead.

Where: St Andrew’s On The Terrace (entrance via the alleyway to the right of the church.)
When: 2pm Sunday 22nd November
Who should attend: Everybody who is interested but especially our members and contributors

Two Future Of News Workshops - 19th November (Wgtn) and 2nd December (Auck)
Several members of the Scoop Foundation team including departing editor Alastair Thompson will be attending two other events discussing the future of news over the next fortnight at which the participation of the Scoop Foundation in efforts to address the news crisis may be discussed.
1. The Civics and Media Project’s 3rd Workshop (which is being hosted by the Royal Society and is supported by the McGuiness Institute) is being held in Wellington this coming Thursday, 19th November. 2. On 2nd December Alastair thompson will be attending the AUT University hosted "Journathon" in Auckland see details at http://journathon.org.nz/.
