New rules around ACC levies and finances have passed into law this afternoon
Following Question Time and the General Debate MPs debated the third reading of the Accident Compensation (Financial Responsibility and Transparency) Amendment Bill
ACC Minister Nikki Kaye said the bill would deliver greater transparency over ACC levies as well as making them more
Labour’s Sue Moroney said if the minister’s words were the actual intent of the bill then Labour would support it.
However the bill would allow more political control of the levy setting process.
The debate was completed very quickly and the bill passed its third reading by 109 to 12 with NZ First opposed.
MPs then began to debate the committee stage of the Gambling Amendment Bill (No 3)
but immediately reported progress to allow for an Urgency motion.
