NZ troops stationed close to ISIS held town of Ramadi
The Western-Iraqi town of Ramadi has fallen to ISIS millititants despite the efforts by the Iraqi army.
However this recent victory by ISIS could implicate New Zealand defence personnel stationed at Taji Air Base only 113kms from Ramadi.
Prime Minister John Key said he is confident that Taji Air Base is the safest place for NZ troops in Iraq.
“Just because Ramadi has been taken by ISIL doesn’t mean our troops will come home.”
