Post-Cab Presser: Key Dodges Ponytail Questions
Prime Minister John Key was reluctant to answer questions on the “ponytail pulling incident” in a press conference held
today in Wellington.
Key has been touring the Persian states as part of Anzac commemorations and today was the first opportunity for media to
press him about the issue.
However Key did not go into detail about some of the questions and avoided others all together.
“I don’t really have anything else to say about it, its been a well traversed track over the last couple of weeks you’ll
appreciate I’ve made lots of public comments.”
Key said he has taken legal advice in regard to Private Prosecutor Graham McCready filing an assault charge against him
at Auckland District Court last Wednesday.
Key said he would be paying for any legal advice “in his own personal capacity.”
McCready has also filed a sexual harassment complaint against Key to the Human Rights Commission.
Amanda Bailey, the waitress who fell victim to the Prime Minister’s horsing around, is also considering legal action
against Key.
