New Zealanders appear to have a great deal of loyalty when it comes customer satisfaction with a soft touch for local branded companies when they have a choice.
Roy Morgan’s 2014 New Zealand Customer Satisfaction Awards have been presented to 23 23 businesses topping their respective fields with outstanding levels of Customer Satisfaction, as judged by almost 10,000 consumers.
A number of companies continued to lead the way with Kiwibank, 2degrees, Apple and Suzuki each reconfirming their reputations for outstanding customer service with a fourth consecutive win in a row, while Bunnings returned to form three years after its last victory and Paper Plus, Ballantynes, Burger Fuel, TSB Bank and Hannahs all made it two-in-a-row.
New World, Care Chemist, Max, Robert Harris Café, Noel Leeming and Kathmandu all won for the first time.
Average satisfaction rates vary widely, from mid-70s to mid-90s. Typically, New Zealanders are more satisfied with cars and hardware stores, pharmacists, clothing and sports stores, but not so happy on phone and utilities providers.
Topping the latter two categories were two local branded companies, niche electricity supplier Powershop and mobile company 2degrees.
