Peters to Stand in Northland By-Election
New Zealand First Leader Winston Peters today announced his intention to stand in the Northland by-election, citing his own links to the electorate and ongoing neglect of the region by central government.
The by-election follows the resignation of National MP Mike Sabin. If an member of another party won the seat National would need the support of more parties to pass legislation.
Following his statement Peters took questions on his plans for the election and possible electoral moves if he succeeds.
