The House will resume at 2pm with the first Question Time of the year.
Opposition MPs are likely to focus on the resignation of National’s MP for Northland Mike Sabin, the Sky City convention
building deal and the potential deployment of troops to the Middle East.
After Question Time, MPs will return to the debate in reply to the Prime Minister’s statement with seven hours and 10
minutes remaining.
If the Government decides to adjourn the debate, on top of the Order Paper are a number of bills awaiting their
committee stage debates.
These are the Energy (Fuels, Levies, and References) Amendment Bill, Gambling Amendment Bill (No 2), Animal Welfare Amendment Bill and the Commerce (Cartels and Other Matters) Amendment Bill.
